Chippendale-style Armchair
Woodworker: Philip Houck
This mahogany and ash Chippendale armchair is a copy of one of two chairs on display at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. “I wanted to make an armchair with stretchers and carvings for the experience of the construction,” says Houck. The chair is finished with water-soluble dyes and shellac.
