Colonial-style Armoire
Woodworker: Kendl Monn
The type of armoire crafted by Monn was traditionaly known as a kast in Colonial America. Monn, a specialist in matching and restoring old paint, mixed his own to approximate a century-old finish. The kast is made from tulip poplar, and has brass escutcheons and iron locks. It also has hand-forged iron rattail hinges. The milk-painted finish is also coated with shellac and varnish.
