Concave Front Sideboard
Woodworker: Gerald Curry
When Curry began designing contemporary furniture, he didn’t leave old processes behind. In all his pieces, he says, “the construction is 18th century-hand-cut dovetails, mortise and tenon joints, hand-planed solid wood. That’s the way I like to build.” He gave the front of his sideboard an inward sweep and eliminated the usual deep drawers or doors because he thinks many period sideboards appear top-heavy.
