“Coral” Bowl from Spalted Sugar Maple
Woodworker: Ed Kelle
This bowl, made from spalted sugar maple, has 10 hours’ worth of texturing on the outside and rim and is colored with thin washes of oil paint. Kelle wanted the inside of the bowl to contrast with the outer coral appearance, so he left it smooth and finished it with clear lacquer.
