Dancing Leg Hall Table
Woodworker: Jason Ramey
Ramey, a student at the Herron School of Art and Design, in Indianapolis, eschewed the tradition of straight-leg design and tried to create movement with a top cantilevered from four curved legs. The table was an experiment that seems to be successful, he says, “because the four legs seem to dance,” wrote Ramey. The top is mahogany and the legs are maple. Ramey needed 30 to 40 hours to complete the piece. The finish is oil and lacquer.
