Dining Table
Woodworker: Rex Alexander
Though Stickley-style tables are most often made with quartersawn white oak, Alexander decided to lighten things up a bit with his use of curly maple. Alexander purchased a whole log and had it cut to his specifications, which enabled him to match the figure in the wood. To give the table strength, the mortise-and-tenon joints are reinforced with pins and screws. The finish is oil, wax, and polyurethane.
