Dual-Function Step Stool
Woodworker: Alan Turner
Turner made this piece for a family seeking a step stool. The dual-function is handy, but Turner added craftsmanship and style so there’s no confusing it with something from a hardware store. The stair-mechanism concept came from a factory-made piece from the 1920’s. Turner has made many sets of these stools. Some sets contain only one step stool while the balance is made without the fold-down steps. They are often used for casual dining at the island of a modern kitchen.
