Esherick-style Rocking Chair
Woodworker: Chris Jungbluth
Working from a photograph of a chair made by a former Krenov student (whose piece was inspired by Wharton Esherick’s work), Jungbluth took approximately 400 hours to make this jarrah rocking chair. He first developed drawings from the photograph and then built a full-scale mock-up. The chair is finished with shellac under Liberon varnish, and the seat is upholstered in leather.
