Woodworker: Thomas Starbuck Stockton

This custom buffet in Honduras and African mahogany uses veneer with beautiful but not overpowering figure. Stockton crafted the piece for clients who saw his work at the Dovetail Collection gallery in Healdsburg, Calif. The piece the couple originally saw was too large for their space so he worked with them to design one to fit their needs. “The overall goal of the project was to make a piece of furniture of the highest quality that would be in the family for generations to come,” said Stockton. The buffet features wenge accents, brass hardware and a hand-rubbed oil finish.
