Fort Bragg Curved Box
Woodworker: Sarah Marriage
The ocean waves that break a mile west of the school’s woodshop, coupled with the grain of the madrone, gave Marriage the idea for this box (14-in. deep by 10-in. wide by 2-1/4-in. tall). The box has two lids, carved from solid stock, that overlap to provide a built-in pull. The finish is shellac. “CR is one of those places in the world where creativity, work ethic, and passion exist in strong concentrations,” Marriage said. Photo credit: David Welter.
