Fort Bragg Display Case
Woodworker: Carlos Cux
Cux was in his second semester at CR when he built this bowfront display case (7-1/2-in. deep by 19-1/2-in. wide by 26-in. tall). He’d learned how to do curved work, fit drawers, and hang doors in an earlier cabinet, but this time he added glass. The case and doors are made from madrone, with spalted sapwood in the lower door panels. The finish is shellac. “I came here from Guatemala, and I want to be able to teach young people in my home country when I complete my studies,” Cux said. Photo credit: David Welter
