Woodworker: Steve Pancoast
This commissioned Rococo-style table, one of two by gilder Nancy Thorn and carver Steve Pancoast, is a testament to the art of water-gilt gold leafing. The piece is covered with more than 6500 sq. in. of Russian 23K gold leaf. The table, which is made of basswood, took approximately 2000 hours to carve and gild.
