Glass-front Bookcase
Woodworker: Steve Latta
It takes time and patience to make this walnut glass-front bookcase. Latta knows that delicate muntins, using small mortises, require exacting machine work and handwork. Half-lap joints are used for the lattice grids to stiffen them. Each door of the cabinet is glued together before fitting the muntin faces, and each one is fit one at a time. A dyed-to-match glazing compound fininshes the process.
