Goddard-Townsend-style Secretary
Woodworker: Allan Breed
Though Breed did not make this secretary himself, he was instrumental in its construction. Breed was commissioned by nine first-time woodworkers in Washington, D.C., to teach each of them to build a secretary of their own. This piece is one of the nine constructed during that two-year period. Each piece is an exact replica of a Goddard-Townsend secretary, and each piece is made of mahogany with brass escutcheons.
