Hall Table
Woodworker: Josh Metcalf
The design of Metcalf’s flush-cornered tabletop was inspired by the Chinese Ming Dynasty. Nitered joinery allowed Metcalf to frame the drawer faces and side panels with a concave edge profile. Where the horzontal rails meet the leg, this profile produces a modified groin vault. The table is made from solid walnut, walnut veneer, pau ferro, maple, and bronze. It is finished with French polish and wax.
