Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Bench
Woodworker: Miguel Gómez-Ibáñez
Gomez-Ibanez made this bench from one huge slab of mahogany, cutting of the ends and folding them down to become the legs. He made it as gallery seating for the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. The Moorish arches and oversized dovetails are inspired by the great mosque in Cordoba, Spain, with its red-and-white painted segmental arches.
