Gale Satterlee made this deck chair in Australian jarrah as part of an outdoor furniture line. The piece is held together with 54 mortise-and-tenons, brass hardware, black walnut dowels, and waterproof marine epoxy. Bent laminations in the slats contour to the body and flex for comfort. His finish is designed to withstand outdoor abuse. He uses Steve Smith’s penetrating epoxy as a first coat then applies three coats of Epifanes marine varnish. www.GaleSatterlee.com
