Jewelry Box
Woodworker: Jim Cummins
A tablesaw is the only tool needed to build this pine jewelry box, making it a perfect project for a beginner. The curved sides are glued-up strips that were ripped from a standard lumberyard-variety door and window casing. The sides were then covered with shopmade veneer that was steam-bent over a tea kettle. The box is lined with velvet and finished with spray lacquer.
