Letter-Tenon Table
Woodworker: Kintaro Yazawa
Kintaro Yazawa employed his impressive decorative joinery techniques to build this trestle-style table. Exposed through-tenon joints are the primary joint. However, he carved the through-ends of the tenons in the shape of letters to spell out words and phrases. The joints look tricky, but Yazawa uses a logical method for this perplexing joint, as described in his companion article “The Wizard’s Secrets” (FWW June 2007).
