Woodworker: Paul Henry
Henry carved this bleached basswood case to mimic the collar and cloak worn by Queen Elizabeth I, known as the “Virgin Queen.” The inside of the case is finished blood red “to symbolize the contrast between Elizabeth’s vital interior life and her cold, carefully cultivated exterior persona.”
