With pieces no larger than the size of a dime, players need the felt-line rosewood tweezers Mode carved to make their moves. Both the main board and smaller vessel, which houses the pieces when not in use, are made from Indian rosewood, ebony, and holly. The chessmen are ebony and tagua nut.
