Morris Chair and Ottoman
Woodworker: Gene Lehnert
Made of quartersawn white oak, this Craftsman-style Morris chair achieved its classic color through an ammonia-fumed finishing process. The chair is constructed with mortise-and-tenon joinery in the traditional Arts and Crafts style. The seat and back are upholstered with cotton.
Lehnert details the construction and finishing techniques in his article “Craftsman-Style Comfort in a Morris Chair” from Fine Woodworking #101.
