Open Hutch
Woodworker: Ronald Layport
This curly maple open hutch draws its inspiration from styles common in America between 1730 and 1840. To give the hutch a more vertical effect, beaded edges and applied moldings were used on the face frame. Joinery common to the period was used, such as dovetails and pinned mortise-and-tenon joints. The piece is finished with oil.
