Woodworker: Chris Gochnour
This oval desk is made of curly maple, linden, and Japanese pagoda and is finished with with aniline dyes, oil pigments, and lacquer. To build the desk, Gochnour used trees from the grounds of the Utah State Capitol that were downed after a tornado in 1999. The desk resides in the governor’s office as part of the permanent collection of the Utah State Capitol.
