Pennsylvania Dutch-style Blanket Chest
Woodworker: Unknown
The Pennsylvania Germans carried on a folk tradition of making pine chests decorated with the floral and figural motifs of traditional German manuscripts. These chests, perhaps more than any other piece of “low-style” American furniture, have been elevated to the level of collectibles worthy of inclusion in a world-class museum.
