Woodworker: Chris AratoArato crafted this Philadephia-style highboy in collaboration with Robert McCullough. The two woodworkers live 800 miles apart. The cabriole legs were roughed out in Maine, mailed to Pennsylvania for carving, and sent back to Maine to be attached to the case. The piece is made from mahogany and crotch mahogany with poplar. It is finished with an aniline dye, pigmented stain, and shellac. Photo: Jonathan Binzen
