Polish-Canadian Szafa
Woodworker: David Sentesy
Sentesy’s reproduction of a Polish-Canadian szafa, or wardrobe, took about 80 hours to complete. The original was made by J. Kosloski in the mid-19th century. The piece features turned columns, a cross-framed door, hand-forged hinges, a baroque-styled drawer, and a bonnet top. Pegged mortise and tenons hold the wardrobe together and tung oil gives the white pine a natural finish. Open the door to find a hanging rod and adjustable shelves.
