Woodworker: Len Dougherty
Red roses in marquetry decorate the side of this cabinet veneered in bird’s-eye maple. Len Dougherty creates definition in the rose petals and on the leaves by pressing one edge of the veneer up against the side of a cast-iron skillet filled with hot sand, achieving a fine line.
