Shaker-style Blanket Chest
Woodworker: Charles Durfee
Making a Shaker-style blanket chest is a lesson in dovetail joinery. Durfee used cherry to construct this chest rather than pine because of its matched grain and color. The base features frame-and-panel construction and is fitted to the chest last. The chest is finished with an oil-and-varnish mix.
