Shaker-Style Blanket Chest

Becksvoortâs blanket chest is constructed to allow for movement in the wood. The bottom panel floats in grooves cut into the four sides of the chest and is undersized to allow for seasonal movement. The top is constructed of quartersawn wood to minimize expansion. This cherry chest is finished with lacquer.
