Sheraton-style Glove Table
Woodworker: Mark Bellonby
The main feature of Bellonby’s glove table is the architectural design of the wave pattern on the backboard. Bellonby surveyed a number of buildings before creating a pattern of his own. Aided by computer drafting, he was able to develop half of a symmetrical front elevation, then mirror it to create the other half. The table itself is made from cherry and ebony, with brass hardware; it has some design aspects of the Sheraton style. It is finished with tung oil and varnish.
