Woodworker: Gary Nakamoto
Sawn curves, bent plywood and cylinders come together in this side chair to produce a gracefully curved shape. Nakamoto used a bending form created by furniture makers Carolyn and John Grew to shape the seat and the back of the chair. Nakamoto sketched thousands of designs before making this chair and still continues to play with the design.
