Sideboard of Mahogany and Bird’s-Eye Maple
Woodworker: Greg BrownBrown’s mahogany and bird’s-eye maple sideboard reflects a combination of Federal influences. The main form can be attributed to a Seymour-style dressing table, the grape-leaf carving comes from Thomas Whitman’s work, and the rest of the carving and details are Samuel McIntire. Finished with shellac and wax, the sideboard is 20-3/4 in. deep by 58 in. wide by 38 in. tall.
