Silver Ash Dining Suite
Woodworker: Tony Kenway
The silver ash trees for this dining suite were felled on a macadamia farm near Kenway’s shop. Kenway air-dried the lumber for a number of years and then cut out the components for the whole suite a bit oversized. Before cutting them to final shape, he took them down to a final moisture content of 7% or 8% in his “hot box,” a miniature kiln made of plywood and heated with light bulbs on a dimmer switch.
