Lonnie Bird created this spice box cabinet that is a showcase for frame-and-panel design. “There’s probably no design element with broader appeal than the frame-and-panel,” says Bird, “It’s a traditional favorite for doors, such as on this heirloom spice box cabinet, and for wall paneling and case work.” The cabinet, made from walnut, also uses mortise-and-tenon joinery.
