Tall Jewelry Cabinet
Woodworker: Michael Singer
Singer built this tall jewelry cabinet for a 15th wedding anniversary. Its long delicate legs give the cabinet a graceful lift, and the doors open to reveal a stack of 15 drawers and a mirror, as well as an assortment of necklace hooks. The doors open via a serpentine ebony pull, shaped by hand. The cabinet is made of mahogany (veneer and solid stock), curly and quilted maple, cocobolo, Macassar ebony, and holly. Singer used shellac and an oil/varnish mix to finish this piece.
