Thurston-style Chest
Woodworker: Joe Mendel
Mendel made this chest as his first project as a student at North Bennet Street School in Boston. Constructed out of quartersawn white oak with a pine bottom, the chest was inspired by a John Thurston piece on display at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut. It is finished with Danish oil and a mixture of carnauba and beeswax.
