Woodworker: Steve Johnson
Steve Johnson’s mobile tool chest is made of solid walnut and was designed much like an automotive tool chest. The drawers glide to full-extension on 100-lb. slides that are attached to an internal carcase of 3/4-in. particleboard. The overall weight, without tools, is 215 lb., which includes the 60-lb. granite surface plate mortised to the top.
