Twisted Windsor Rocker
Woodworker: John Steele Davis
Davis built his first Windsor chair in 1996 with the help of Michael Dunbar’s book Make a Windsor Chair. After a back injury, Davis sought ways to make construction less strenuous. He ended up using vine-twisted saplings that mimicked the chair parts, to avoid having to split and turn them on a lathe. His unique designs have been a success. “People love them and so do I,” he wrote.
