Woodworker: Jamie Vander SalmThis unfinished ash chair, 33 in. deep by 22 in. wide by 40 in. tall, contains more than 600 copper rivets. For Vander Salm, steam-bending the green ash was easy; the difficult part was the riveting, done the old-fashioned way with nails, burrs (washers that go on the back side), and a ball-peen hammer.
