Upholstered Side Chair

Woodworker: Michael C. Fortune

Michael Fortune’s chair was designed for comfort and durability. The chair features a slip seat upholstered with multiple foam layers ultimately covered with fabric designed specifically for chairs. The flexible foundation for the chair seat starts with a platform of Baltic birch plywood that has slots cut in it. Once the seat is finished, it is attached to the frame.
