White Elm Shoji Screen
Woodworker: Rob Brown
Brown often uses Japanese paper to add texture, color, and individuality to his pieces. He took this shoji screen a step further by adding a silhouette of a tree. Brown applied colored paper to a panel of white paper already stretched onto the frame, making paper marquetry of sorts. The finish is black pigment with water-based varnish.
