White Oak Blanket Chest

Woodworker: Jim Hoyne
Jim Hoyne crafted this blanket chest to commemorate his daughter’s college graduation. To create the piece, he used quartersawn white oak and incorporated maple inlay. Hoyne chose aromatic cedar for the bottom of the chest as well as for its interior tray. The finish is hand-rubbed shellac and wax.
