reclaimed cedar trestle table
First post on Finewoodworking. Made from recycled western cedar. Used to be utility poles! 1/2″ walnut dowels as accent wood on the breadboards. 1″ walnut dowels as pegs to secure the trestle. Three coats of gloss poly on the table top.

Hi nice job on the table.I am planning on a similar top out of some wormy chestnut I have. How did you do the breadboard ends?Did you rout a groove in the end board and form the tenon with a router or something different?
Thanks, I used a dado blade for both. I believe the tenon was 3/4" long, and 1/8" depth on each side of the table top. Then set the dado to 1/2" and plunge cut. It took a couple practice cuts until I got it right.
Looks really good. I really like the beefiness of the table. Nice job, keep posting your work.
Thank you.
