Maple and Walnut Hall Table

The origins of the table.
Inspired by an article on floating table tops, I built this to serve as an entry way table for our home. I completed most of the work by hand including:jointing and thicknessing the stock, tapering the legs, and most of the joinery. The walnut base is finished purely in danish oil and the top and shelf are in water-based polyurethane.

Nicely done. Love the floating top & shelf look. The contrast between the walnut base and the top. Doing this solely by hand makes it all that more special.
