The box was a custom order by a client that wanted a box to contain all the aspects she liked of my other tables put into one box. half-lap, half-blind dovetails on the front and back, dovetails through on the top and sides, buffard frere banding inlays, diamond inlays of Ebony and flame inlays of Spanish Cedar. The woods are; quilted Black Walnut, Claro Walnut, Curly Maple, Flame Maple and inside bottom of Aromatic Cedar. Front lip is Ebony.

The top lift was made by gluing up the box so it was unopenable, then the top was cut off using my tablesaw and put together using hidden barrel hinges. Finished with Tung Oil.

Client was in tears when she picked it up, it was a gift for her husband that just returned home from rehab after having a stroke.
