This is the marquetry version of Jack Vettriano’s famous painting “the singing butler”. Size: 9×11″ for the marquetry, 16×19″ for the frame. material: more than a dozen types of wood veneers. Finish: mineral oil + varnish. It took me the whole winter to finish this piece.

Marvelous work! How did you achieve the narrow straight components of the umbrella handle and interior framing?
I would like to know what wood you used for the red and what you did to keep the red from turning brown when the wood gets its patina. Great work
