Madrone Bench

Wentzel built this madrone bench without glue or fasteners. Sliding dovetail cleats made of purpleheart join the two-part top to the tenoned legs. The top is a single slab that was ripped and flipped to put the natural edges in the center. The bench (10-3⁄4 in. wide by 78 in. long by 15 in. tall) is finished with tung oil and beeswax.
