This “Gothic Cat” I carved while teaching this class this past few weeks. It was very enjoyable to carve and also to look back at the difference from when I carved the original one in 1999.
This wall plaque is caved out of bass wood. The eyes are out of Ebony hardwood, the size of the wall plaque is 9″wide x 12″ long x 3″ deep. For this style of carving, leaving the carving marks without sanding any of the cuts helps give the feeling of the older gothic style.
