Walnut slab and white oak dining table
The top of this dining table is made from one solid slab of Oregon walnut. It measures just under 10 feet long, varies in width between 44″ – 62″ and is about 2.75″ thick. The base is made of white oak with sculpted joints and double tenons throughout all the joints.

Wow, that's simply stunning. Always nice to see a large slab not bolted to metal legs,... Sculpted joints and double tenons...wow, . This is truly an impressive piece of work, I particularly like the choice of oak with the walnut, the contrast is subtle yet distinctive, perfect for drawing attention to the slab first, yet the eye follows quickly to the base. There is an overall harmony/flow to it that I really like, it's rare to see a table made from such a large slab with a base that looks like it is actually part of the overall design, and this does just that. Well done sir
The base makes this table for me. Swooping curves with feet planted firmly. It is spectacular. I'm trying to imagine how you designed the connections. More photos? Also watched your video on the Mad Dog table. Great design again, and more utilitarian for these users. Thanks for including delivery and setup shots. Congratulations.
Thanks for the comments! It's a very heavy table as you might imagine and the joinery had to be up to the job. My goal was to to make an elegant base using the thick bulky material needed to support the base. I feel I was successful at that. I have been working on putting together a slideshow with many more photos of the table and the process of building and delivering it. If and/or when I get that done, I will post a link to that.
